Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. I'd have to say it's in part because of the amazing decorations I see every where I go around this time of year. I love how crafty and creative everyone gets. I guess that's why they say "tis the season to be jolly." I grew up with the ultimate crafter of crafting gurus - my mom. Too bad Youtube wasn't around then, she's for sure be a star. I mean this woman can make anything she sees! My dad can even be a little crafty himself from time to time. Luckily I got their creative genes and I happen to LOVE creating.
December is going to be a beyond busy month for me as I'm sure it will be for you. I wasn't sure if I wanted to put up a Christmas tree simply because I live in an apartment and I'm planning a wedding. So as you can imagine space has been posing as an issue. Still, I wanted to decorate because I've been in the Christmas spirit since October. Then, I was inspired by some Christmas garland (decorations from Christmas past that I never took down) to make a non traditional tree. If you are looking to save on space and time without forsaking glamour than this garland Christmas tree DIY is for you!
Instructions
Step 1: Choose what space you want to put your Christmas tree. I choose above my bed.
Step 2: Cut a piece of garland for the bottom of your tree (mine was around 15 to 16 inches)
Step 3: Cut 4 more pieces of garland, each shorter than the next.
Note: The final piece of garland that you cut will act as the top of the tree.
Step 4: Using your push pins pin your garland to the wall starting from the bottom up.
Step 5: Once you are done pinning, choose a pretty bow to act as the star at the top of your tree!
Optional: Add small bows as ornaments!
Simple, easy, and glamorous!
